Behold the solution to the cruising footwear dilemma

By Cruising With Honey - 18:54

WHEN I went on my first ever cruise, a 2-nighter aboard the Dawn Princess, I packed 7 pairs of shoes.

Yes, you read that right, S-E-V-E-N for T-W-O nights. I had a whole luggage bag just for my shoes! I had NO idea what was expected aboard the ship; at the formal dinner, in the casual eateries or even around the pool. Suffice to say, I wore only two pairs of the footwear I lugged – sandals and a pair of heels.

Now with seven cruises under my belt, I have learned my lesson and only take TWO pairs including the ones I wear on boarding day; a dressy heel and thongs. If I think I’m going to do loads of walking on a tour or go to the gym (hahahahahah), I’ll take some joggers. As you can tell, I have spent a lot of brain-power thinking about footwear, and while I’m not one for stereotypes, I, like MANY women-folk, LOVE MY SHOES.

I must admit though, I have faced a shoe-conundrum packing for my adventures at sea. While those cheap rubber thongs are fine for wearing around the pool, they’re not appropriate to wear in the main dining room. So, at night, I put on the heels and trot painfully up and down the stairs. I love heels, but on a rocking boat, climbing stairs and dancing till the wee hours, they are not the ideal footwear. I have racked my brain trying to think of a solution. I want to have stylish feet but still feel comfy. WHAT TO DO?

Well, guess what? I found a solution! One of the followers of my blog has a fabulous footwear company in Brisbane called It.Beach which specialises in sandals that have been designed specifically to be worn on cruises and around water.  Not only do they look great, but are also super-duper comfortable. They feature:

·      Anti-stress (massage) technology in the soles
·      Breathable vents for air circulation (no more sweaty feet)
·      A wide range of colours and styles, many featuring handcrafted sparkles
·      A cute message at the bottom of the soles that leaves an imprint in sand, "Quem Me Ama Me Segue" which translates to “Who Loves Me Follows Me"
·      Made with recyclable materials, are cruelty-free and comply with fair-trade.

In preparation for my next cruise, I have been test-driving the purple STRASS DUBAI SPLIT IN AMETHYST & LAVENDER, and I have to tell you, they are gorgeous and go with everything. I can wear them at the beach, shopping, dinner, movies, ANYWHERE. Every time I take a step, it’s almost like getting a foot massage. Light-weight, they also dry very fast.

So there you go, I have found the perfect solution to my shoe dilemma for my upcoming cruise to Moreton Island. I’ll only have to take ONE pair of shoes, and be able to wear my It. Beach sandals everywhere on the ship and at the beach.

Now, as I love you all, I am giving away TWO PAIRS of sandals thanks to the generous people at It. Beach. The two winners will be drawn at random from the competition on my Facebook page and will be able to choose any style from the sandal range. All the details can be found here.

GOOD LUCK
